Shawn Evans, AIA, is Principal and Director of Preservation and Cultural Projects at AOS Architects, a 32-person firm with offices in Santa Fe and Philadelphia. Shawn manages the Santa Fe office and brings more than 25 years of professional experience to the practice. Nationally recognized as an innovator in historic preservation, he has spoken at numerous regional and national tribal, preservation, and museum conferences.
Jeff Pappas was born in Worcester, MA, and holds degrees from Brigham Young University, Baylor University, and a Ph.D. in American Indian and Environmental History from Arizona State University. Pappas joined the National Park Service in 1992 and was stationed at Yosemite National Park, splitting his year between California and Fort Collins, CO, where he taught the history of America’s National Parks at Colorado State University. After leaving the NPS in 2012, he was appointed State Historic Preservation Officer by New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez. He also teaches in the School of Architecture and Planning at the University of New Mexico.
